Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazard Awareness
for schools and colleges

Entry Level Award

A young person is seriously injured in a UK workplace every 40 minutes. In the last decade, 66 under-19s have been killed at work.

The British Safety Council is paying for all 14-19 year olds in full-time education in the UK to gain the BSC Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazard Awareness (Entry 3).

If schools become members of the British Safety Council (at a discounted rate of £150 per annum), in addition to the normal range of member benefits, they will be entitled to examinations leading to the BSC Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work at the discounted rate of £5 per candidate.

Both qualifications provide a formal assessment outcome to the delivery of health and safety in the National Curriculum and contribute to school performance figures.

Both qualifications are supported by free teaching materials.
